St. Michael's Bellringers

bellsspaceWe are a keen band, who ring various methods from Doubles, Plain and Little Bob to Kent and Cambridge Minor. Visitors of any standard are always welcome, as is anyone who used to ring and would like to have another go. Many of our band, who now have more lesiure time, enjoy meeting other ringers from the area once a month, to ring and then socialise over a pub lunch.

Besides our weekly practices on Tuesday between 7.45 pm - 9.15 pm and Sunday morning ringing (9.50 am - 10.25 am), we also ring for special occasions and weddings on request. Let the rest of the village share your big day!

If you would like to see what is involved in being a church bellringer, please come to one of our practices, visit the ringing room on a Sunday morning about 9.45 am or contact our secretary, Petula Hughes or ringing master, Jean Nixon.

Ringing is a hobby that appeals to people who like to be part of a team, partaking in the continuation of a British tradition, which first developed about 250 years ago and is now flourishing in America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

The pictures above show a number of our ringers at a practice night. To see larger images in a separate window just click on the small pictures.
