    Mission Statement

God is calling us to be his active and visible presence, serving him and our neighbour, and spreading his word wherever we are.

Growing together in Christ through prayer and common worship, in awareness of an ever-changing society, we are called to commit our time and talents to expand his kingdom and share his love by reaching out actively to our community.

    Prayer of the Month

May the God of all hope
fill you with all joy and peace in believing,
so that you may abound in hope
by the power of the Holy Spirit.

      Romans 15:13  N.R.S.V.

    Graveyard Database

Since the foundation of St. John the Divine in 1866, burials have been carried out in our extensive chuchyard until very recently. A new survey of the graveyard has been carried out and is now available on-line as a database for those people who wish to trace their family roots.

    Parish Records

Historic records of St John the Divine, Horninglow have been deposited at Staffordshire Record Office, where they are available for consultation by the public. These consist of the parish registers of baptisms 1920-1968, and burials 1978-2000.

A catalogue of these records is available in "Gateway to the Past" - the online catalogue of the Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent Archive Service. The Archive Service's website provides further information on planning a visit to the office to consult records, should you wish to do so.
