PICTURE OF ST. MICHAEL'S CHURCH

Last updated 12th February 2007

GENERAL

Pelsall is a suburb of Walsall, but is still very much a village, partly because its facilities for shopping etc. are good and also due to the large common area at the heart of the village. Population is between 12,000 and 15,000. The parish is almost completely housing and is a mixture of council and owner occupied. The church is situated on the edge of the common in the village. It is a busy church with numerous activities and organisations. At the centre of our church life is the Eucharist which is celebrated daily.

Parish Records
Historic records of St Michael and All Angels, Pelsall have been deposited at Staffordshire Record Office, where they are available for consultation by the public. These include the parish registers of baptisms 1756-1946, marriages 1849-1950 and burials 1756-1812, 1816-1946.

A catalogue of these records is available in "Gateway to the Past" - the online catalogue of the Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent Archive Service. The Archive Service's website provides further information on planning a visit to the office to consult records, should you wish to do so.
